i'm a week late but...

happy birthday to my favorite 5 year old! wait-how in the world do we have a 5 year old?

ezra had a super fun filled birthday extravaganza. we went to lunch at McDonald's with jess and the girls so the kids could play. and i'm not going to lie, also to get the dragon toys we have somehow started collecting. then we saw how to train your dragon with family. it was such a great movie and the boys had fun hanging out and eating popcorn. then we had a birthday bbq on ezra's birthday. we had alot of people show up and it just happened to rain. rad- try fitting 20+ people in an itty bitty house. ezra got some really great gifts.

thanks to my mom and dad for saving the day with the bug catcher vacuum that had disappeared from our costco.

then another april family birthday party at grandma sue's house. we are so lucky to have so much family around to love our boys.

right now ezra loves-
*army guys
*spiderman
*star wars
*robots
*reading
*going to DI
*helping with yard work! ( how did i get so lucky?)
*playing with his brothers,cousins,friends
*tv. really that boy will watch anything
*learning- ezra is so smart. he is constantly surprising me with his fun little facts and trivia.
*being outside
*riding his scooter and bike ( although he is a bit rusty on the bike)
* planning our summer. almost every day he asks if we can go to cherry hill yet, if we can go to bear lake, when and what picnics we will go on, camping plans,etc...
*primary. ezra loves primary and has alot of very intense questions about the gospel and chirst. i love to hear him talk about it
* questions in general. all. day. long.
*pizza,turkey sammies,pb sammies, apples, cinnamon toast,watermelon,popsicles, mac and cheese. ezra is finally agreeing to trying most food. he doesn't love alot of veggies but he is really good at eating at least one bite. maybe one day?!

you are so silly lately! you are so fun to be around. i love that your pictures are starting to really look like things. you drew the funniest picture of grandpa bob, mustache glasses and all. i love that in your picture hunter was drawn like a person but with fur all over her and a tail. you love to play with your friends right now. you are so sweet and get along with everyone. you are so handsome and your funny little laugh is the most contagious thing on the planet. i love that you wear your sunglasses to bed. you like to do "cool" things right now. you like to look at yourself in the mirror and smile. you LOVE the new iron man and spider man shirts grandma pammy got you. today you surprised me and dad by reciting the whole pledge of allegiance. when did you learn that? you love preschool and talking time. i should be better about taking you to talking time. the other day you picked brynna a flower and gave it to her. i think you have a crush on bryn because you blushed when i asked if she was your girlfriend. every time we go to grandma sue's house you take out cold waters and bring them to everyone with the cutest, most pleased look ever. you are the friendliest boy i know, tonight you kissed kem's pregnant belly. i love you, stop getting older ok?!

james was helping eli say a prayer and said "please bless the food will strengthen our bodies..." and eli says in a crazy voice-

" huh potties? and started laughing way hard...

ezra-

ezra was kind of staring off so i asked him what he was thinking about. i said " were you thinking of how cute mommy is?!" and he said "nope" so i said " were you thinking of how stinky your bum is?" and he said " no mom, but will my bum still be stinky when i die?" and i replied " yep, probably even more so."

things have been pretty crazy here. my sister was in town for 3 WEEKS and you had better believe that we were living it up...

these crazy nuts sure are cute when they get along. funny story, for those who are weak at heart or don't like "potty talk" then look away now!

so lately eli has been into acting like a puppy named " diego" well yesterday ezra and "diego" were playing and wrestling. all of a sudden ezra started screaming and yelling that eli had bite him on the... you guessed it ( or maybe you didn't ) what the??? who bites people on the "you know what"? diego thats who. little stinker, it was even bleeding! james and i were trying not to laugh as we tried to discipline eli and sympathize with ezra. and the worst part was that i could not for the life of me try to talk ezra out of putting a band aid on the wound. is this a normal occurrence for those of you with boys?

we found these sillies reading a book together the other day and we thought it so cute we snapped up a photo. to bad the sweetness lasted all of 2 minutes. i sure do love these crazies!

happy happy birthday ezra dear!

my biggest boy turned 4 yesterday. how is it that this little boy is 4 already? ezra has been the easiest, sweetest, most helpful, laid back kid a mom could want. he certainly set the standards high. ezra is a big boy, always has been ( weighing in at 9 lbs 3 0z at birth) and now topping the scales at 40 something pounds. when ez was little i would get so sad at the thought of him getting older. i can honestly say that i love every stage that children go through more than the last. ezra is so funny lately. some examples... " mom first i was in heaven, then i was a baby, then i turned into a robot." today he said " ok, ok mom settle down a minute" when i told him not to eat his easter candy with out asking. he also makes sure that everyone knows he isn't cute or funny but cool. where do kids learn that they want to be cool?

we had a fun filled weekend birthday extravaganza. on friday we had a combined party for mike( who shares the same birthday as ezra) and kyle. ez got a lot of fun things but the belle of the ball would have to be the tractor and excavator that uncle mark and aunt vickie got him. when we got home the boys were super excited to find that mike and beth had gone all out decorating their room with about 30 balloons, streamers and candy. on sunday ezra opened his presents from us. a bug catcher, jammies, books and his favorite a scooter. last week i was at VF factory checking out some killa deal on 7 jeans ($12 thanks for the tip mom!) anyhow i stopped by the good old toy store and to my delight say a silly little blue scooter, complete with a basket, the word happy all over it, and little streamers. it is super dorky but perfect for a 4 year old. james was worried that it was a little dorky but when we saw ezra's friend tanner today he said " cool basket ezra" so dorky it ain't. love you big boy!

the other day at we were at my grandmas house watching " this is howie do it". if you haven't seen it it's sort of a candid camera type show with howie mandel. all of a sudden ezra ran out of the bathroom, pants around the ankles and with his undies just covering his front and not covering the rear at all and yelled "this is how we do it!" and did a little dance. priceless. he has also told us his middle name was robot, he had spider man lips and my personal favorite- that he couldn't feed a baby milk with his boobies but he could see through things with them!?
