halloween 2009
i suck at blogging as of late...
the boys were fun, they had a blast. eli changed his mind about his costume at least 6 times, ezra twice.
i'm trying to be better about blogging but i get in a funk.
i love fall but i get seasonal depression thinking about the upcoming winter. so i freak out. clean and reorganize my home and cut my hair way short. happens every year. turns out i don't love my hair short, i guess i don't love it long either. oh well it's just hair...
i need to step up my game... the damn 7 pounds will not budge I HATE YOU BLOODY SEVEN POUNDS! now off with you.anyone have good motivating exercise routines?
i am loving glee and watching flight of the conchords on you tube.

following the lead of krista i decided to start doing random post. you get alot more done that way. so here goes...

we went to the zoo last week. it was the best time we have had yet. we went at 4:30 in the afternoon and the weather was perfect. nobody was there and we got to see everything in the 2 hours we were there. for a funny eli story see this post. then we went to cinegrill for dinner. the salad was yummy.

we saw where the wild things are tonight and loved it. weird that alot of people didn't? we were warned that the kids would be bored but they loved it as well... on the car ride home eli started spraying ezra and the van with his water bottle. we took away the water bottle and all hell broke lose. eli threw a fit and cried and freaked out, then we heard gagging. guess what came next... loads and loads of popcorn throw up. popcorn throw up is extra nasty. my van stinks...

speaking of movies that we enjoy but others don't- we loved land of the lost, i think we were the only two who did. we did not however like year one, what a waste of time... i guess there were a few funny parts but all in all it stunk.

i started the 30 day shred videos today. i will be doing them every day but Sundays and maybe Wednesday ( because of cycling) i have done level 1 many times but the last few days have done level 2 and holy cow is it hard. i'm not a "sweater" and this video makes me sweat hard. i love that feeling. and one the subject of jillian micheals i bought her protein powder the other day and it is really good. anyone else watching this years biggest loser? i hate that brat tracey, she better be gone soon.

anyone want to go out this week? i'm thinking i need a break. probably Wednesday night. either a movie when the kids are in bed or some treaty and chatty time. who's in?

that is all...

some random things-
have you ever visited failblog? you should because it's great. they have links to their other sites too. look-alikes and engrish. james and i check them out every day and laugh our little butts off. this one describes me lately.

this is one of my all time favorite dishes from the rachel ray cooking magazine. we add avocado.

Southwestern Chili-Mac Salad
1/3 cup fresh lime juice
1/4 cup coarsely chopped cilantro
7 tablespoons extra-virgin olive oil
Salt and pepper
4 ears corn
2 cups elbow pasta
1 red onion, half finely chopped, half thinly sliced
1 1/2 tablespoons chili powder
1 pound lean ground beef
One 15-ounce can kidney beans, rinsed
2 tomatoes, cut into wedges
1 1/2 cups shredded cheddar cheese

1. In a medium bowl, combine the lime juice and cilantro; whisk in 6 tablespoons olive oil. Season with salt and pepper.
2. In a large pot of boiling salted water, cook the corn until just tender, about 3 minutes; transfer to a cutting board. Return the water to a boil, add the pasta and cook until al dente; drain and transfer to a large bowl. Cut the corn kernels from the cob and add to the pasta.
3. Meanwhile, in a large skillet, heat the remaining 1 tablespoon olive oil over medium-high heat. Add the chopped onion and chili powder and cook until the onion begins to soften, about 2 minutes. Add the ground beef and cook, stirring frequently, until lightly browned, about 8 minutes. Transfer to a colander and drain well.
4. Add the beef mixture to the pasta; season with salt and pepper. Add the kidney beans, tomatoes, sliced onion and vinaigrette and toss to dress. Transfer to a serving bowl and top with the cheese.

i really want this rug. who knew that one of my favorite fabric designers makes rugs? just like everything else anna maria horner makes its gorgeous. she has such an eye for cool and colorful things. i am currently obsessed with her good folks fabric right now.

i really like this idea of using vintage maps for the boys room. keep your eyes peeled for cute ones for me ok? i think this is from flickr.
