My first order!

awhile back I did a harvest boutique with whitney and her sister abbey, marta and some other crafty ladies who i didn't yet know. my main item that i was selling was applique baby clothing. i sold most of my clothing but had alot of people asking me to do things in adult and bigger kids sizes. here is my first order for a lovely lady names andrea. i'm so thrilled she loved everything and has already begun another order. i just applied for an official buisness license so that i can get wholesale pricing on american apparel clothing. i will be offically opening up shop in january. stay posted for details!

As previously mentioned before, every thanksgiving my Granny Sue and Grampy John throw a pirate party. Each year Grandma comes up with ever better and more exciting pirate games and festivities. Well this year Granny got super crazy on us! The whole day was filled with fun nonstop from the $50 pirate bingo game ( that I won!) the pirate clothespin bottle drop ( that I also won, not to brag or anything but I was on a roll this year) down to the dicing for booty game. You all have probably played a version of this sometime in your life but never like this. There are 4 dice sets that are passed around in a circle, if you get doubles you get to pick a prize from the middle or steal one from your neighbor. Well that is how the game normally goes... this year there were so many presents that we couldn't even fit them all in the room with all of us in there too. It was so fun to see the kids carrying in load after load of presents as the free space in the room quickly disappeared! We got so many neat and wonderful things.. some favorites included the sinking ship book ends, the huge knife, the trader joe bag of goodies, pirate ornaments, fun toys for the boys, not to mention the skull and crossbones paper weight, cookbooks, lantern and candle. A great big huge thanks to my favorite grandparents for treating us to a wonderful and piratey vacation.

This year I decided to make as many Christmas gifts as I could. I thought it would be fun for margo to get a dress up bag with some new fun things. Next up...a crown, tutu and cape. Even though ezra is modeling the minnie skirt for you all, he will soon be giving it up to margo. This could be a disaster...last time I made something for margo ( a pink tutu) he got attached to it and was not very happy when I hid it from him.

I found these pictures from a few months ago and they made me laugh. We found this wig at my mom's, hunter grace ( our yellow lab) also tried it on and i must say she looked stunning! Eli loved it, Ezra hated it.

Pirate Addie

Welcome to the family Addie Rose! To truly be a member of this messed up ( but fun!) family, one must receive a pirate blanket. You see every thanksgiving my dear granny has a pirate party... We did this way before all this hype about pirates. Anyways our family has a bit of a pirate obsession, anything and everything pirate goes. All the babies even have numerous pirate get ups. Being the pirate and crafty nerd that i am, I am always on the lookout for cute fabric and other crafty pirate swag. Well I have had my eye out for this lovely Michael Miller fabric for some time but have not seen it anywhere, lucky me some fabric store in bountiful had a whole bunch of it. Hooray- matching blankets for Eli and Addie, our newest pirates!

Halloween

Ezra was a chicken. We were a little worried because up until right before trick or treating he refused to try on or wear any of his costumes. Then all of a sudden he thought the chicken was cool ( probably the red high tops helped a bit). He kept running around going pretending to fly and going " Bach Bach". Eli was a punk rocker, we were going to paint his face like a misfit but his face is to cute to ruin with paint. Ezra loved running up to everybodies door, then he would put his head down and act shy when they gave him candy, then he would drag his bucket on the ground with his head down until we moved onto the next house. It was so weird but funny. We had alot of fun.

case of the blahs

Like Sarah Silverman, I have had a case of the blahs lately. But unlike Sarah I chose to cut my hair rather than get an aids test to make me feel better ( if you haven't seen it her show it is pretty funny but really naughty). It was the longest it has been in a really long time... I think that I really like it, it definitely is healthier than it was 10 inches ago. Thankfully my children still recognize me as their mom. Ezra is making a silly face for you.

new rug

I have desperately looking for a rug that wasn't boring. I found one I loved at tai pan but they ended up being gone. Then I discovered flor. I don' think that I have ever been so in love with something other than my family and disneyland! I think I love that it looks like fabric and isn't boring like other rugs. Thanks to my wonderful mom and hubby it is mine...the only crappy thing is that it won't be here until november 15th-ish. oh well... that will give me time to paint everything to match right?

Ezra and the kitty...

We have become cat people against our will. I never in a million years thought that i would feel the need to take care of a cat. I am what you call a "dog person"... I am a loyal dog fan and not the greatest lover of cats ( as my in laws have come to learn) Well when we bought our home we inherited a black kitty that the previous owners had been feeding. I felt bad for the poor thing and decided that we should continue feeding her so that she wouldn't die. When we first moved in the cat wouldn't let anyone touch her, now the frequent scene out my window is Ezra carrying her upside down or by her neck... and she still wants to play with him and snuggle up to him!
My mom thinks it's really funny to say things like " now that you are a cat owner..." or " what is your cat's name?" Ugh- That damn cat has even suckered me into making a bed for her that she won't freeze to death this winter. By the way her name is sal.


For the record we are not cat owners... we just feed a stray cat, let her sleep on our porch and play with our children.

Moving day

I haven't posted in a long while because.... moving sucks and with kids it really takes longer than you expect. We all love our new home ( especially ezra!) We have almost everything unpacked and are anxious to get it all decorated cute. Here is ezra driving the moving van. He freaked out when dad and the big truck pulled up.

This is two weeks overdue but my baby Eli is 6 MONTHS! It is going by way to fast this time. I really love the newborn stage where babies are just helpless and cuddly but from about 4 months on are the best. Eli loves to play with his big brother Ezra and watch him, he thinks Ezra is the funniest person alive. He really enjoys bugging Ezra too, James and I laugh because they will be playing on the floor and Eli will ruin Ezra's perfectly lined up cars and laugh, Ezra gets so mad!

Eli started crawling a few weeks ago and let me tell you it is a nightmare. He follows Ezra around and wants to play with all of Ezra's toys ( with lots of small parts babies should not play with) Eli is a one happy, fun , handsome and charming kiddo. Now if he could only work on the waking at 5:00 to nurse thing....

Ezra the rock star

Ezra loves to watch this sesame street video were Luis plays the guitar and sings with a bunch of animals. Ezra picked up the guitar and started singing it one day.

Our new house! (hopefully)

We finally took the plunge and bought a house! This is it... well we are waiting to close but hopefully all will go well and we can move in next month. The home is in kaysville, the owner was a horticulture major so it has an awesome yard ( with a big tree and pergola!) Hopefully we can decorate it as cute as they did. We are really excited, and the best part is we will live 2 blocks away from my uncle mark and aunt vickie.
