Harry potter

I finished harry potter last night at 10:30 since james is only on the 2nd book ( as has been for a few years) I would love to talk about the book with anyone who is done. In the comment section so that i don't give any spoilers away. I am sad that it is over but relativly happy with the way jk rowling ended it. what do you think?

Our sweet eli

This weekend my baby turned 5 months old. It sort of made me sad, I think because 5 months is almost 6 months which means my baby isn't a newborn anymore ( does that even make sense?) Time goes by much quicker on the second baby than the first and I honestly can't believe that my little (not newborn anymore) baby is starting to eat solids and trying to crawl. I was worried when I was pregnant that it would be impossible for me to love him as much as ezra. As soon as i met him I knew I was wrong... he is the sweetest and easiest person to love and I instantly loved him just as much as ezra.Let me tell you a little bit about Eli, He-
  • loves people, from the minute he was born he loved to we where the action was ... which makes napping hard when he isn't at home in his bed with lots of noise so that he doesn't know things are going on! Supposedly he is just like his mama in the words of granny sue " payback is a bit#@!"
  • loves his big brother ezra. If he hears him he whips around to see where he is and laughs at everything ezra does ( except for when ezra yells, then he cries)
  • has a tender heart- This morning we were playing and we bumped heads and he stared crying, and gave me the pitiful " mom why did you hurt me, we were having fun" look... it happens every time he cries
  • has dimples just like his grammy pam
  • sticks out his tongue all day
  • sucks his thumb
  • loves his silky
  • has the most beautiful eyes you have ever seen
  • always has a smile for us ( even at 2 in the morning)
  • looks just like his dad and brother- except for when he does the look in the first photo ( then he looks exactly like a price baby!)
  • has little fuzzy duck hair that sticks up in the back
  • loves swimming, bathes, anything to do with water
  • loves his family
  • gets excited when james gets home from works
  • bounces and kicks his legs when he excited
  • loves his tummy nibbled
  • sleeps on his tummy with his bum in the air, arms tucked under ( just like ezra)
I could go on but I will save some more for later- We love our little guy and are so glad that he is ours!

We have been to alot of weddings lately, the kids don't love them and we usually don't stay long. Well we have had 2 family weddings in the last 2 weeks . First was Andrea and Eric and then Zach and Emily. Saturday was 103 for those of you who didn' t have the pleasure of being outside all day chasing a toddler and sweating while trying to look pretty for a photo! Ezra wouldn't nap at the hotel because as we all know there is a window of opportunity for naps. For three hours we tried everything but failed. Wouldn't you know that as we were getting ready to go to the reception Ezra started to throw a tantrum because he was hot and tired. No lie as we pulled out of the hotel he fell asleep @6:02 pm! This is how he spent most of the reception.

I'm sick, maybe this will make me feel better?

Gotta love Giada! James got this recipe from a lady he home teaches. He is kicking himself for not trying them when she offered.

Here's an update. These were really good and felt good on my sore throat. I would probably use about half or less of the mint, it is a bit overpowering. We really enjoyed them though.

Italian Ice pops-

(12-ounce) bag or 1 1/2 cups frozen raspberries, defrosted
1/4 cup chopped fresh mint leaves
1 1/2 tablespoons lemon juice (from 1 lemon)
3 or 4 tablespoons simple syrup, recipe follows
14 wooden ice pop sticks

In a blender, combine the raspberries and the mint. Puree until combined. Add the lemon juice and 3 tablespoons of the simple syrup. Blend to combine. Taste the mixture and add the remaining 1 tablespoon simple syrup if you like. Spoon the mixture into an ice cube tray and freeze for approximately 30 minutes, or until partially frozen. Insert the wooden sticks and return trays to the freezer for another 3 to 5 hours.
Simple Syrup: 1/4 cup water 1/2 cup sugar
In a saucepan, combine water and sugar over medium heat. Bring to a boil, reduce heat and simmer for 5 minutes, until the sugar has dissolved. Take pan off heat and cool the syrup. Any extra cooled syrup can be saved in an airtight container.
Yield: 1/2 cup

Ezra watching Cars while playing cars

Ezra loves the movies Cars with all being. He owns a car mat, beach towel and lounge chair thanks to granny sue. The thing he loves the most though is the little matchbox/hot wheels toy cars. Whenever we got to target or walmart we have to avoid the toy section because one of us is sure to yield to the almighty powers that be ( Ezra) and buy a new car. We are like a bunch of crazies over here, I bought 2 new cars ( new mator and radiator springs lightning mcqueen in case you were wondering) just yesterday at target. Ezra likes to hold them in their package and look at all the " collect them all" pictures on the back while laughing and pointing out the ones he has. James gets just as excited as Ezra when we find a new one we don't have yet. The thing is we get suckered into buying one almost every week because James and i are in a secret battle to be the favorite. Well not that I am counting or anything but the score is mom is winning dad isn't.

Last night James and Ezra went to check on the garden. After Eli's bath I decided to go take some pictures outside because the lighting was nice. Can you tell Eli loves to put things in his mouth?

Japanese craft

So these pretty little outfits are what made me fall in love with the bloggy world. It's called Japanese crafting and I love it, mostly the baby stuff and the clothing. The only problem is the books are hard to get and the patterns are in Japanese. I'm finally ready to bite the bullet and try my hand at Japanese instruction. This book is all about reconstructing clothing that you have to make new clothes. I already love any sort of craft where you use things you already have. I'll let you know how it goes! Cutest baby ever... Check out those eyes!

Ezra and dad, hard at work

Our first plants!

One day James and I were taking the kids on a walk when we noticed a sign for the Holladay community gardens. Why not we thought, even though neither of us had ever gardened before. So we joined in not expecting much and not realizing the hard work we were in for. We had our doubts that anything would grow on the rocky, hard and ugly piece of land. We were so wrong! Everything is growing so well thanks to our chicken manure miracle grow. We officially are "green thumbs" We have already had some radishes and they were mighty hot and tasty.

I love blogs, mostly of the crafty or cooking kind. So after reading blogs of friends I decided to join the fun. With a two year old and a four month old we shall see how long it last! My guess? not very.
