while i'm at it...
i should mention that eli is walking all over the place now. i keep trying to film it but every time that i do he follows me around because he wants to see the camera and cries when i don't give it up. here is one more funny story... the other day ezra was in going potty and james and i were lying in bed, this is what we heard. " oh doh, ( yes i am aware that my child imitates homer Simpson, give me a break james is his dad, what did you expect) anyways back to the tale at hand. " oh doh, go away poo poo. you see ezra was really good about going poop in the toilet at first, then he had a 5 day break from going poop, do you see the problem here? now he is a bit nervous to go in the toilet ( tips would be greatly appreciated here, who am i kidding i am desperate tell me what to do... please). the conversation continued..." yeah pee pee, yeah! " while clapping, and then one more " you go away poo poo" followed by more clapping for his pee. it was definitely one of the most interesting one sided conversations i have heard.
the cat food catastrophe

yesterday the kids and i were getting ready to leave the house. all of a sudden ezra started screaming " mommy help". i ran into the kitchen thinking something was terribly wrong, nope it was just that eli was sitting on the rug eating fist fulls of cat food and grinning his naughty little grin. i really wanted to take a picture of the whole scene but i knew that eli would just keep eating the cat food... in the meantime ezra was yelling " ugh yuck beebye ( eli) yuck, don't eat kitty food" with a totally disgusted face. the best part was that he started gagging, like full on heaving while he was screaming his protest to eli. it was total and utter chaos and to top it off when i fished out the cat food from eli's mouth he started crying and screaming and acting like i was taking away his most prized treat. up until that point we were all having a pretty rough day...oh boy , it was so funny and it totally lightened the mood and made me realize that sometimes we all need to just lighten up and enjoy each other, to further lighten the mood we went and got shakes and visited granny sue. it was the best day this week! i sure do love my naughty little boys.

California dreamin'

we had so much fun on our trip to cali last week. we stayed at my sister jessica's home in " beautiful wine country temecula". we just hung out at jessica and kyles the first few days, while the kids had a blast playing with each other. margo and ezra would run around screaming their heads off and laughing, eli thought it was fun to join in too. addie was just as quiet and sweet as can be, she really is such a good baby!
then we went to the san diego zoo. it was so pretty and green, the kids loved it. another night we hung out with krista and ryan and enjoyed some bbq and guitar hero. if those guys were excited about their little one coming i think we may have scared them off, well maybe not... at least 2 of the 4 kids behaved themselves.
then it was off to disneyland! it is fun every time we go but i think that this was one of the best trips. ezra was old enough to get excited about things and wouldn't ( and still hasn't ) stopped talking about our trip. ezra and margo were both tall enough for matterhorn and apparently they had a lot of fun on it ( not that i got to go... damn pregnancy) eli was really fun too because he would point at things and say " oh" , if he really like something he would point with both hands.
we also enjoyed seeing our cousins and aunt and uncle who also live in temecula. we went to in and out, trader joes and pinkberry many times. the kids even got to see their great great grandmother. anyways we had a really fun trip and are already excited to go back.

happy birthday baby!

today my baby boy eli turned 1! it was a really fun day. we had a birthday party with our families and enjoyed some pizza and the cutest elmo cake ever. it has been really fun to have a house for people to come party at. recently my grandma sue and grandpa john moved here from cali... the boys love having a new awesome place to visit.
just like all you other mommies it makes me sad to see my baby getting older. i love this age though. eli is so funny and full of curiosity. he recently became quite sassy. he likes to yell and point, demand things, and bug his big brother. when i found out i was pregnant with eli i was sick with worry because i thought for sure i could not love him as much as ezra, i thought it impossible. then i saw his perfect little face and the striking resemblance to his big brother and i fell in love instantly. eli is truly a happy little guy. he makes us so happy and is so fun to be around. he is for sure a little charmer... everyone ohs and ahs over him everywhere we go. he has the biggest bluest eyes and long lashes you have ever seen. i love his sweet, stinky little chub neck. i love his funny little bum and chubby thighs. i love his unbelievably large hands.he has recently started being silly to make us all laugh. he has the sweetest laugh too. ezra is really easy to make laugh and when he does he does this funny belly laugh ( and has since he was like 3 months old) eli is different, he is selective with what he laughs at and it is hard to get him going, but when he laughs it is pure delight! we are so glad to have this sweet and amazing spirit in our lives. i couldn't imagine my world without either of my boys.

no- you have it all wrong
there was to be no congratulations on the last post! i was looking for pity. something like " oh you poor dear, that sucks that you have to be pregnant and breastfeed again and never get your body back for the rest of your life." ( side note this has been my life for the last 3 1/2 years but for 2 glorious months after i stopped nursing ezra and before i got pregnant with eli, let me tell you i was skinny). or possibly this one " oh - i'm sorry that you have become one of those crazy mormon ladies who keeps popping out children one after another." or at the very least- " honey- get those tubes tied ." i guess that spending the next 6 months feeling sorry for myself and being resentful aren't going to help though. i am pretty sure i'll like and possibly love the thing when it is born. who knows though... ( i am kidding here i hope you all know, my kids are the most important and dear things in my life... hormones )
